NATURE FRIENDLY FROM THE FIRST DAY.

As Akform, we act not only for today but also for the future. We want to set an example for the future with our philosophy that we produce by making use of our wastes with sustainable energy, and we want to support the future generations by acting and realizing our long-term plans.

Composed of 98% post-production waste material, Recycled Orthoflex is the result of our expanding commitment to creating more sustainable technologies that close the post-production waste material cycle and bring us closer to the ultimate goal of ZERO waste. With the creation of a new R&D centre, we have invested in the continuous development of more sustainable solutions that optimize our supply chain end-to-end by capturing and reusing all waste materials.

Our facility uses clean solar energy to heat our production and facility, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. On cloudy days, our factory uses the heat provided by an efficient air compressor, limiting our environmental impact.

Ordinary polybags take hundreds of years to decompose, causing pollution and trapping marine life. That’s why we pack and deliver our products in bags made of calcium carbonate derived from natural limestone. The bags are waterproof, tearproof, pest resistant and naturally biodegrade in 10-12 months.

When you look at any Orthoflex insole, you will notice small black spots. We have used these black spots, which are part of our technology, on more than 1 million of our insoles. In addition to providing durability, breathability, cushioning and comfort, it prevents more than 300 metric tons of recycled rubber from entering landfills each year. It helps us do our part within the shoe community to close the loop in the manufacturing process.
